MRCOOL Open Box items are products which may have damaged packaging, scrapes, dents, cosmetic blemishes or are otherwise not suitable to be sold as new. MRCOOL Open Box items are verified to work properly and are classified as Grade A or Grade B and will be noted in the product listing. 

A “Grade A, Very Good” classification means a product may have some small scrapes, cosmetic blemishes, dents, or dings that should only be visible upon close inspection, and may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged. Grade A units will have no fin bends, except for manufacturing defect bends. The only easily visible damage should be scratches, rub marks, scrapes, & feet bends that do not bend the unit in.

A “Grade B, “Good” classification means this product has minor scrapes, cosmetic blemishes, dents, or dings that are visible from a distance upon inspection, and may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged. Grade B units will have minor dents and dings. Most of them will be barely noticeable and none should be deep enough to push in on internal parts inside of the unit, such as coil fins. These units may have minor scratches and scrapes. No edge dents should be deep enough to disfigure the unit’s cabinet (should not change the shape of the unit).
